Zone Protection

Using zone protection it is possible to protect areas within construction sites where there is a high concentration of pedestrian or vehicle traffic, site office locations or other vulnerable areas. The danger which tower cranes pose to such areas from load falls due to badly slung loads or chain breakages can be mitigated by preventing the hook block and/or jib from operating above them. Other hazards within construction sites such as power lines, high buildings, mobile cranes etc can also be protected from the danger of collisions by setting up zones. The TAC 3000 allows for up to 6 protected zones (of up to 8 points each) to be programmed, in which either the hook block or jib are not allowed to operate.

Zone Protection

The operator retains control of the crane unless they breach the safe working distance which has been stipulated by the site, in which case the TAC 3000 will act to prevent a collision or the possibility of oversailing the protected area. The operator will still be able to move the crane away from the hazard but no closer.
